چکیده

Find out the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and W.C with disease activity score in AS patients its association clinical characteristics of AS. One hundred five (75 male 30 female) who visited rheumatology medical rehabilitation center Sulaimani city were recorded this cross-sectional study. Disease was measured by ASDAS-ESR hand-held calculator. BMI calculated waist circumference (W.C.) both evaluated those normal abnormal W.C. Data one involved study a mean age 37±9.5 years predominance gender (71.4%). The 27.2±4.6 kg/m², 28.6% them obese 35.2% overweight. Patients overweight, increased had significantly higher scores older compared to W.C(p value<0.05).There no statistically significant difference two groups terms peripheral arthritis, duration, AS, (P value>0.05). Overweight, obesity are common among related age, but not gender.

Urolithiasis in ankylosing spondylitis: Correlation with Bath ankylosing spondylitis disease activity index (BASDAI), Bath ankylosing spondylitis functional index (BASFI) and Bath ankylosing spondylitis metrology index (BASMI)

Background: Increased incidence of renal stone has been reported in ankylosing spondylitis (AS), but unlike some well-known renal involvements, they have not been fully studied. The aim of this study was to investigate the association of AS with urolithiasis and also the relation between urinary stone and severity markers. Methods: One hundred-sixty three AS patients were included in a cross-s...

The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence and risk factors of low bone mineral density (BMD) in patients with Spondylarthropathies (SpA) at an early stage of disease. In this cross-sectional study, the BMD of lumbar spine and hips was measured in 130 consecutive early SpA patients. The outcome measure BMD was defined as (1) osteoporosis, (2) osteopenia and (3) normal bone dens...

Does body mass index (BMI) influence the Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score in axial spondyloarthritis?

OBJECTIVE Obesity is associated with elevated C reactive protein (CRP) levels. The Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score (ASDAS) combines patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and CRP. We evaluated the effect of body mass index (BMI) on CRP and on ASDAS, and studied if ASDAS can be used in obese axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) patients to assess disease activity. METHODS Baseline data of p...

The advent of high-throughput SNP genotyping methods has advanced research into the genetics of common complex genetic diseases such as ankylosing spondylitis (AS) rapidly in recent times. The identification of associations with the genes IL23R and ERAP1 have been robustly replicated, and advances have been made in studies of the major histocompatibility complex genetics of AS, and of KIR gene ...
